  1.      Procomm  Plus 2.0 has bugs. PCP 1.xx is OK as is PCP 2.01  or  higher.
  2. The  Init string for PCP is AT&F&C1&D2^M - CTS/RTS=ON   Autobaud  detect  =
  3. OFF - drop DTR to hangup = YES - modem speed 19,200, (38,400 or 57,600)   -
  4. Pcplus  intercepts  all progress messages, unless you  dial  (ADTDxxxx)  in
  5. Terminal mode so you don't need S95=44 or 45.

  7.      If the Procomm uses ATZ^M for it's init, go back and change it to  the
  8. setting in the 1st paragraph.

  10.      In  the  dialing  directory  press P and you  can  enter  any  of  the
  11. following......

  13.                  V.32 / V.42bis Dialing Prefixes
  14.  
  15.      The  normal dial Prefix is ATDT. If the number  is  423-1563 then   it
  16. sends ATDT4231563 to the modem, which then  dials,   and connects. This  is
  17. using  auto-speed  (baud)  negotiation as well   as  negotiating   Protocol
  18. (V.42bis, MNP etc.). Some modems/software you  will call do NOT like  this.
  19. Listed are alternate dial Prefixes you may use.

  21. AT&Q5N1DT           :negotiates SPEED and Protocol (default) 1
  22. AT&Q6N1DT           :negotiates SPEED only 1
  23. AT&Q5S37=11N0DT     :*Connect 14400, negotiate Protocol 1 2
  24. AT&Q6S37=11N0DT     :*Connect 14400 only 2
  25. AT&Q5S37=9N0DT      :*Connect 9600, negotiate Protocol 1
  26. AT&Q6S37=9N0DT      :*Connect 9600 only 1
  27. AT&Q5S37=6N0DT      :Connect 2400, negotiate Protocol 1
  28. AT&Q6S37=6N0DT      :Connect 2400 only 1
  29. AT&Q5S37=5N0DT      :Connect 1200, negotiate Protocol 1

  39. S95=44   gives  you full result messages with CONNECT  (modem  to  computer
  40. speed).  If  you need CONNECT (modem to  modem) speed the same  as  CARRIER
  41. (modem  to modem) use S95=45. When running a BBS, try  S95=3 and  you  will
  42. get only CONNECT(carrier) message, with \ARQ for error correcting   modems.
  43. Always  set  your  'speed'  in your program  to   the  highest  permissable
  44. computer  -  to - modem speed (check your manual). The  V.32xx  or  V.42bis
  45. modem will take care of modem to modem speed.
